The friends of patients committee provides medical equipment and necessities for a number of medical establishments
More than 4 million riyals during 3 months
The friends of patients committee in Asharqia chamber has provided help directed towards patients as well as medical equipment and necessities to clinics in the region in the third quarter of the current year. Dr. Khaled ibn Mohammed Al-shaibani, the committee’s chief and the director of the eastern region health affairs department, said that the committee has provided medical equipment and necessities for patients in Dhahran general hospital. The cost of those contributions was 720560 thousand riyal. It include ultrasonic steam generators, some wheelchairs, other mobile equipment, and oxygen tank regulator. He also pointed out that the committee has contributed 1,240,000 million riyal to provide medical equipment and necessities to patients in Dammam medical complex. It provided them with a portable ultrasound machine, a flexible fiberoptic ureteroscope and a number of portable respiratory machines for patients at home, how are admitted in the home care program, which has a training program to teach patients how to use those machines. Moreover, for Qatif central hospital, the committee has provided an eardrum examination otoscope, to test hearing and Brainstem Response, a radioencephalography machine for the intensive care unit, and a wax casts machine for histological anatomy, and an ultrasonic biometer machine. The total cost of the provided equipment was 343 thousand riyal.
The committee has also provided Abqaiq hospital with ten dialyses machines that cost 150 thousand riyals. In addition, it participated in covering the cost of renting a venue that patients of Alamal mental health hospital can use. The committee has also participated in eid visits and gifts program, as well as the Adha eid program, where gifts cost 26 thousand riyals. Al-Shaibani noted the committee is working now on providing a number of medical equipment and tools for a number of public hospitals in the eastern region. A number of businessmen donated the cost, which was more than three million riyals.
The friends of patients committee is an initiative of Asharqia chamber of commerce. It was established in 1403, to work on programs that benefit patients and those who need medical services. This initiative aims to raise the level of services provided for patients, as well as their moral, by arranging visits from the committee members as well as businessmen to check on them and provide them with support as possible.
